Ugarit was a colony of the Israelite colony of Cyprus and the Ugaritic language was a version of Hebrew that had been put into cuneiform. Velikovsky dated Ugarit to the period between 950-500 BC. According to my own Chronology I would date it from about 830-600 BC. It's final sacking by boats from the sea was most likely done by Greeks in the employ of the Assyrians.
The city of Ugarit was founded around 830 BC by Nikmaddu I (also Nikmed/ Nikomedes) who was most likely the son of the Euagoras King of Alishiya (Elishah) on Cyprus. The city was named Ugarit in honour of King Euagoras (Ugorat). They belonged to the Helonite clan of the Tribe of Zebulon. The Carians or Minoan Cretans also joined the settlement as well as the Ionians or Mycenean Greeks.
The Carians probably left Crete and established their settlement of Caria in Asia Minor (Turkey) after the cataclysmic events that ended the Early Minoan period in 968 BC. Linear A of Crete according to some researchers is a form of the Hurrian (Khar or Khur) language. This is the language of the Early Minoan period and may demonstrate a middle eastern origin for the Early Minoan culture. Linear B of Crete represents the southern Atlantean influx to Crete of the Middle Minoan period. Alternatively, could Cydonia on Mars have been the origin of the Hurrian language which may have been a Josephite colony on Mars founded around 1470 BC at the same time as the Martian kingdoms of Arcadia and Olympus? While Hurrian was the language of those Cydonians (possibly the Ephraimite branch) who left Mars around 1300 BC, the Uratu (possibly of the Manasseh branch) may have been from those who remained on Mars until 968 BC before returning to earth led by the legendary Hayk who was of gigantic stature and establishing the Uratu kingdom in ancient Armenia.
The legend of Hayk and his ship (spaceship) landing in the mountains of Armenia became confused with the story of Noah and his Ark. The legendary battle between Hayk and Bel probably occurred on Mars and Bel was the title of the overlord or High-King of the Martian Kings descended from Nimrod. Hayk is also the Armenian name for the Orion constellation. Mars' lighter gravity may explain the tall stature of Hayk.
The Mycenaeans known as Ionians were also descended from the Javanites of Mars who returned to earth and founded Atlantis after 1300 BC. This history of the Martian origins of many European peoples is hidden in the mythologies and legendary stories and genealogies.
Nikmaddu I (r.830-800 BC) lived during the reign of Thutmose III (r.851-797 BC). Nikmaddu's Queen was Salamis (Salome) a daughter of King Solomon. His mother Queen Eglah was a granddaughter of King David and his wife Eglah. Nikmaddu I was succeeded by his son Yakarum (Yakar) around 800 BC as King of Ugarit. Yakarum ((r.800- 780 BC) was the father of Ammittamru I (780-750 BC) who reigned in the days of Amenhotep III (r.781-743 BC). He was succeeded by his son Nikmaddu II (r.750-715 BC). He married Princess Nebetah of Egypt the younger sister of Akhnaten.
Nikmaddu II's son Arhalba (r.715-713) succeeded him and his wife was Queen Kubaba. He was succeeded by his brother Nikmepa (r.713-660 BC) after King of the Chaldeans and Babylon (Chatti or Hittites) removed his brother. During Nikmepa's reign was the time of the Trojan War around 690 BC which did not occur in Asia Minor but Finland or Sweden. His wife was Ahatmilku a Princess of Amurru. Amurru was the name of the Kingdom of Syria (Damascus) in Ugaritic. Nikmepa was succeeded by his youngest son Ammittamru II (r.660-635 BC).
Ammittamru II was succeeded by his second eldest son Ibiranu (r.635-625 BC). He was succeeded by his son Nikmaddu III (r. 625-615 BC). He was succeeded by his son Ammurapi (r.615-600 BC) and in his time Ugarit was conquered by Assyria. A branch of the Royal House of Ugarit may have moved north to the region of Bithynia and become Princes in this region and later Kings of Bithynia. The fabulously wealthy Jewish family of Nicodemus (Nakdemon) may be a Jewish branch of the Royal House of Bithynia.
Much theological dross has been written about how Ugaritic religion influenced the Israelites religion due to the Accepted chronology of Academia placing the period of Ugarit before the time of the Israelites arrival in Israel. Velikovsky was the first to address this and redate Ugarit after the time of David and Solomon. My chronology is similar to Velikovsky but is dated over a century later based on my dating of the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem to 460 BC and the exile of the Israelites to 600 BC. Thus Ugarit's history runs parallel to the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
